Howdy from the Broken Chair Band and Ranch!

Thanks for stoppin' by the home page of the Broken Chair Band and TM cattle ranch, where we hope you will get to know us and come often.  Todd and Melinda Carter are singer/songwriters for the band, and wear a variety of hats when they ride for the brand on their cow-calf operation. Their  surprise blessing, a young daughter, is the newest band member and ranch hand welcomed into the world recently. Visit us on myspace.com/brokenchairband !

All of the original Broken Chair Band's songs are inspired by the hardships, lessons and blessings ranching life brings, where they weave stories on mercy, wisdom and grace.  Songs are branded 'Americowboyfolkgrass', with emphasis on Americana, Cowboy, Folk, and Bluegrass musical influences.The curves and twists that life promises require dodging the bullets, navigating the rockslides, and gaining wisdom along the trails of life. Much of the band's material is inspired by everyday ranch life.

Why name a band the Broken Chair Band? TM ranches brand resembles a broken chair (see above). The brand is registered in TX and AZ, and in the cow pen it's called the 'broken chair brand.  So it was no big stretch to name the band.

Living life the cowboy way, a cowboy longs to hear, 'job well done' after a long, hard ride.
The trails are steep and narrow but the reward is eternal!  The family lives on their ranch in the Superstition Mountains of Arizona, while the herd resides in the fertile valley of Tonto Basin.  When they're not workin' or cowboyin', they're pickin,' strummin' and singin' as a family!

                                 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
                     a broken and contrite heart oh Lord you will not despise.
